CAUTION……DO NOT APPROACH via A592 KIRKSTONE PASS !!

A pleasant compact site, helpful wardens,

"tip" try and avoid the pitches near the entrance, a little worse for wear.

Dog walk 150yds away, poop-a-scoop, plenty of cow and sheep muck though.

Great place for kids and parents, Road Train, Mini Golf just outside the site.

Ten minutes walk away, Lake cruises, cinema, shops, museums, pubs, etc. (no arcades). £25 will purchase a family ticket on the Lake cruiser, return trip on the Lakeside & Haverthwaite railway (usually steam) and back on the boat.

A full and interesting day out, with plenty to do and see.

For the fishermen (and ladies. !!) out there : Only 500 yards away, on NT land…. Perch, Rudd, Pike & Trout !!

Personally I do not feel that Windermere is the jewel in the Lake District Crown. I for one, would not be tempted to row or even hire a low powered motor boat, too much speed and the occasional accident. All said and done, the Lake has a lot to offer other than messing about in the water.
